Evangelization Ministry

Evangelization at Church of the Epiphany of the Lord

The Evangelization Ministry seeks to form disciples of the Lord Jesus who will discern the gifts that God has given them and put them to work building the Reign of God through mission here at our parish and also in our neighborhoods and city.

We invite all to follow Christ.

Evangelization brings “people to an encounter with the person of Jesus of Nazareth, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate, and risen from the dead.” (Sherry Weddell, Forming Intentional Disciples). In order to facilitate this encounter, the Evangelization Ministry offers training and resources to the members, ministries, programs and outreach of Epiphany so that we share the Story of Jesus and invite the hearer to make a spiritual decision to follow Christ in His Church.

Evangelization begins with prayer.

We invite anyone who feels so called to join with us in intercessory prayer for the evangelization of our parish – which includes everyone who lives within our parish boundaries, not just those who are on our parish roster.  We provide special prayer materials to those who join us as Evangelization Disciples of Prayer. Please contact Bob Waldrop at 405-722-2110 ext 115 or through the contact page of this website.

Evangelization Prayers of Faith and Hope

O Holy Magi, Blessed and Wise,
You are patrons of all who journey to the Truth,
Who are caught between knowledge and speculation,
Who wander seeking  purpose and meaning.

Lead us towards the Light,
So that we gain the wisdom to seek Christ,
We find the courage to search until we encounter Christ,
We hear the Truth that guides us to Christ,
We open our hearts to a personal relationship with Christ,
We experience God’s grace moving us to worship Christ,
We respond with generosity to lay our gifts before Christ,
And we journey together as disciples in a parish community of
Truth, love, mercy, reconciliation, and justice.

Soon come the day when every knee will bow, and every tongue proclaim that
Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen.

O God
Who by a star guided the Holy Magi to the worship of your Son,
Lead all persons entrusted to the care of this parish
Into a personal relationship with Christ.
Help us to live our baptismal vows in truth, love, mercy, reconciliation and justice,
So that we become disciples of the Lord whose light shines before the world,
And this parish becomes the City set on a Hill, where Christ dwells,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit now and forever.

Amen.
