Lenten Activities at Epiphany
Weekday Mass at 8:00am each day Monday through Friday.
Lenten Meals and Station of the Cross each Friday during Lent at 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
Evening Prayer is held every Sunday evening at 6:30pm.
Fridays of Lent.....all Catholics age 14 and older are required to abstain from meat unless you have a medical condition relating to abstinence.
Lenten Friday Meals and Stations of the Cross
Each Friday during Lent, at 6 PM, the parish presents a Friday meatless meal for Lent. This is followed at 7 PM by the Stations of the Cross, ending with Benediction.
Friday February 16: Vegetable soup, Liturgy Board
Friday February 23: Cheese enchiladas with beans and rice, Men’s Club
Friday March 1: Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Women’s Club
Friday March 8: Vegetable and cheese lasagna, Community Service Board
Friday March 15: Cheese Pizza, Parish Council
Friday March 22: Baked potato bar and salad, Hospitality Board
The Lenten Disciplines
The traditional Lenten disciplines are:
- Fasting and Abstinence,
- Repentance and Penance
- Prayer, and
- Almsgiving.
Operation Rice Bowl
The parish invites all to participate in the Operation Rice Bowl program. This is a call to eat more simply and frugally on Fridays during Lent, and donate the money saved to help the poor via Catholic Relief Services, the worldwide arm of the United States Catholic Church to help people in need due to war, famine, environmental/weather disasters, economic and political corruption, and extreme poverty.
